Verification Disclaimer
Last reviewed: July 2026
This Verification Disclaimer explains what verification means on VET Sector Directory, part of CAQA Groups and a Career Calling International initiative, and — just as importantly — what it does not mean. VET Sector Directory helps registered training organisations, TAFEs, higher education providers and other education professionals find specialists, consultants, providers and service organisations connected to the vocational education and training sector. Every business shown in the directory has been through the verification process described below before being listed, but that process has defined limits, and users should understand those limits before relying on any listing.
What our verification involves
Before a business is listed, we ask it to complete four steps. First, it submits its credentials and service information, including business name, contact details, primary service category, location and a description of its services. Second, it supplies references from RTO clients it has worked with. Third, it demonstrates relevant VET sector experience and outcomes. Fourth, it commits to maintaining current professional standards while listed. We review this material, may seek clarification or further evidence, and only publish the listing once we are satisfied the applicant meets these standards. Listings are also reviewed periodically after publication, as described in our Review and Removal Policy.
What verification does not confirm
Verification is limited to the checks described above and does not guarantee quality, outcomes, compliance status or fitness for a particular purpose. In particular, a “verified” label does not mean that we have audited the business’s work, inspected its premises, tested its products or observed its services being delivered. It does not confirm the business’s current registration, accreditation, licensing or regulatory standing with ASQA, TEQSA, VRQA, professional bodies or any other authority. It does not confirm the business’s financial position, insurance coverage, staffing or capacity at the time you engage it. It is not a recommendation or endorsement by VET Sector Directory, CAQA Groups or Career Calling International Pty Ltd, and it is not a promise that the business will achieve any particular result for you, including any audit, registration, funding, accreditation or compliance outcome, which always remains a matter for the relevant regulator or decision-maker.
Verification is point-in-time
Our checks are carried out when a business applies to be listed and at periodic reviews afterwards. A business’s circumstances can change between reviews: staff move on, credentials lapse, ownership changes and service offerings evolve. While listed businesses are required to keep their information current and we act on what we learn, the directory cannot guarantee that every detail of every listing is accurate on the day you read it. If you believe a listing is out of date or inaccurate, please tell us through our Review and Removal Policy or Complaints and Feedback page.
Your responsibilities when engaging a listed specialist
The directory is a starting point for your own selection process, not a substitute for it. Before engaging any listed business, you should complete your own due diligence: confirm current qualifications, memberships, registrations and insurances directly with the provider; take up references relevant to your context; agree scope, deliverables, fees and timeframes in writing; and satisfy yourself that the provider is fit for your particular purpose. Any engagement is a direct contract between you and the listed business. VET Sector Directory is not a party to that contract, does not supervise the work, and takes no responsibility for the services a listed business provides. No payments are taken through this website, and we do not handle funds between users and listed businesses.
Limits of advice
Information on this website, including listing content, category descriptions and articles, is general information only. It is not legal, financial, regulatory or compliance advice, and it should not be relied on as such. Decisions about registration, accreditation, funding, audits and compliance rest with the relevant authorities, and specialist advice about your circumstances should be obtained from an appropriately qualified professional under a direct engagement.
